digital credits on my amazon account

It's common knowledge that an Amazon Prime membership gets you free I've used No-Rush credits to get as much as $10 off digital games on. I Never order anything from Amazon. It seems either someone charging things on a fake account in my name. Not sure what's going on. Not too. If you have multiple credit cards saved on your Amazon account, you could get charged for subscriptions on any one of those cards.

Digital credits on my amazon account -

Amazon became a household name by letting you order almost anything you could possibly want from a single website. Naturally, Amazon wants to make it as easy as possible for you to buy stuff. Arguably, their greatest innovation towards this end is 1-Click Ordering. The company has probably tried to push it on you already, but it’s worth knowing what it is and how it works before you do.

At a basic level, Amazon’s 1-Click Ordering is a simple way to set a default payment method and address for your orders. After choosing which credit card and address you want to use, you can click a single button, then sit back and wait for your stuff to show up at your door.

Amazon also automatically consolidates your orders based on their availability. Say you use 1-Click Ordering to purchase three items at once. Rather than charge you for shipping three times, Amazon will take a look at where your items are shipping from, how long they’ll take to ship, and if they can be grouped together. The company will consolidate as many items together as possible to reduce shipping costs.

However, Amazon’s 1-Click Ordering can get a little tricky. There are a few different types of 1-Click Ordering and turning one on or off may not affect any of the others:

  • Regular 1-Click Ordering: These settings apply to orders placed on Amazon’s website. They may also be used for orders placed through devices like the Amazon Echo.
  • Mobile 1-Click Ordering: Slightly confusingly, this is a separate feature for normal 1-Click Ordering. You can use the same credit card and address, but if you turn off Mobile 1-Click Ordering, it won’t affect your regular 1-Click settings, and vice versa.
  • Digital 1-Click Ordering: All digital purchases—such as ebooks, downloadable music, and digital game codes—are ordered using Digital 1-Click settings. This method uses a default payment method, but obviously there’s no need for a default address since there’s nothing to ship. You cannot turn off Digital 1-Click Ordering.

To set up your 1-Click settings (if you haven’t already), go to this Amazon page to enter a default address and payment method. Amazon will use that information from now on when you select “Buy now with 1-Click.”

Once you’ve placed any 1-Click order (aside from digital content) you have around 30 minutes to change your order before it’s placed. Amazon then checks which items it can group together, calculates shipping costs, and then sends your order out for delivery. Depending on how quickly some items ship (and whether you have Amazon Prime), your stuff could be shipped out within hours.

RELATED:How to Secure Your Amazon Account

While this is convenient, there are some downsides. The most obvious problem with 1-Click Ordering is security. If you have 1-Click enabled on your phone and you lose it or it ends up in the hands of a child, there’s nothing to stop them from ordering stuff with your phone. You might even place an accidental order yourself when you’re not paying attention.

Some orders can also go through a little too quickly to change your mind. Say a child takes your phone and orders an item that qualifies for free one-day (or same-day) shipping. If you don’t spot it immediately, the order could ship before you have a chance to cancel it. After it ships, you’re not dealing with a cancellation—you’re dealing with a return. It’s happened before and while it’s not a nightmare, it’s certainly an inconvenience.

One of the most practical reasons you might want to skip 1-Click Ordering, however, is potentially increased shipping times. Amazon will wait up to three days to ship an item if it can be bundled with something else to save on shipping costs. Say, for example, you order items A, B, and C on Monday. Item A could ship immediately and could get to your house by Tuesday, while Items B and C won’t be able to ship until Wednesday. Amazon might (depending on where your items are shipping from) decide to hold off on sending you Item A until it can go out with Items B and C, meaning it could take extra days to get some of your stuff. If you place your order using the shopping cart manually, you get more control over when and how your items ship.

Of course, for many people, 1-Click is convenient enough to be worth the trade offs. If you order from Amazon frequently and dislike confirming the same information every single time, 1-Click Ordering can save you a lot of hassle. Though it might cost you more money in the long run if you have less time to reconsider that 2:00 AM shopping spree.

What is an Amazon Courtesy Credit and How to Get It

Did you notice any of your Amazon statement’s containing the term ‘Amazon courtesy credit’? Do you wonder what it is?

As you all know, I am a massive fan of the Amazon platform. In the past few years, I have spent a lot of time analyzing and studying it to understand better how it works and what kind of features and benefits they offer.

I also worked hard to figure out how to show you better these benefits and how you can use them.

That’s why I have been working on a series of posts regarding Amazon. So far, I have covered quite a bit of different topics. The ones that caught the most attention are guides related to finding an Amazon wish list and editing Amazon reviews.

If you haven’t checked out those, make sure you do.

The topic of today’s post is Amazon courtesy credit.

Amazon doesn’t go out of their way to explain and make this service accessible, but they frequently use it. You have probably got an email about it at one point, but you may have ignored it.

It’s not strange for massive eCommerce platforms to offer courtesy credits, and Amazon made an effort to have their own.

What is an Amazon Courtesy Credit?

Amazon courtesy credit is an Amazon special issued by the platform to mitigate damages or reward specific actions. You can even get it after you file particular complaints.

It’s often confused with a gift card balance or promo codes. Still, it’s a different thing, as Amazon courtesy credit is being given for delays that happen or to rectify Amazon’s mistakes.

How Amazon decides to give courtesy credit is totally up to their internal policy and discretion, and it’s tough (and not recommended) to abuse it.

What To Use It For?

You can use Amazon courtesy credit for purchasing pretty much any Amazon product. There have been certain complaints that those credits went missing after they haven’t been used for a longer period.

Those concerns were low in number, so they didn’t present a significant concern, but if you want to be on the safe side, you can opt in to use the courtesy credits fairly quickly.

How to Get an Amazon Courtesy Credit?

There are a couple of different ways to obtain an Amazon courtesy credit that I have used, so let’s cover them.

Slow Shipping Method

If you are an Amazon Prime user, there’s a way to get amazon courtesy credit by choosing a slow shipping method. Being an Amazon Prime user, you get an option of a free one day or two day shipping, however, when checking out, you also get an option of choosing a several day long shipping.

It is called “Free No-Rush Shipping”.

By choosing this option, you can sometimes be credited with an Amazon courtesy credit. Be aware that this option is not guaranteed, and you can often only get about $1.50 in digital reward that you can use to purchase digital products like eBooks, music, videos etc.

Also, these offers have expiration dates, so you must use them in a timeframe provided by Amazon.

Filing a Dispute

Another and more common way to obtain Amazon courtesy credit is by filing a dispute. Of course, this shouldn’t be abused, and disputes should be only filed when there’s something wrong with your order.

If your order hasn’t been delivered on time or you have never even received the package, you can open a dispute.

In these cases, Amazon will often offer a courtesy credit to “repair the relationship” because of the mistake on their end.

These credits can be anywhere from $1 to $20+, and you will get an email notifying you of it.

How to Use Amazon Courtesy Credit?

Be aware that you will be able to use Amazon courtesy credit to make purchases for products that are fulfilled and sold by Amazon.

On each product listing, you can find information about who is selling and fulfilling the products, and each of these needs to say Amazon.

Amazon courtesy credit is being applied automatically at your check out, as part of your purchase. You can see those credits being applied at every purchase breakdown and shipping and all the other fees.

If you choose to not use a courtesy credit in any instance, you can deselect it manually when choosing a payment option.

How to Check Your Amazon Courtesy Credit?

If you are looking to check out your courtesy credit balance, you will be able to find that information on the following link.

If a category for Amazon courtesy credit is missing, that means you don’t have any.

What is Amazon Prime Courtesy Credit?

I often get asked this question. There’s no difference between regular Amazon courtesy credit and Amazon Prime courtesy credit.

The only difference is in what we have already explained. That is how you can obtain courtesy credit, where Amazon Prime users can do it by delaying shipping and giving Amazon extra breathing room in fulfilling all orders.

Final Word

We have come down to the end of this article. I hope you now have a better understanding of Amazon courtesy credit, how to check it and how to use it in the future.

Источник: https://www.whathifi.com/us/news/heres-why-you-cant-find-a-ps5-deal-on-black-friday-and-how-to-get-one

Here's why you can't find a PS5 deal this Cyber Monday (and how to get one)

Black Friday might have been and gone, but if there's one other day you can rely on for deals it's Cyber Monday. You can still secure mega markdowns on everything from TVs to toasters, headphones to holidays, but there’s one product you won’t see with a knockdown price – yep, Sony's PlayStation 5.

The Japanese giant’s next-gen console has been in short supply since launching over a year ago, to the point that simply getting hold of PS5 stock at the full retail price is a Cyber Monday ‘PS5 deal’ in itself.

The good news? Hope is on the horizon. We saw an uplift in stock during Black Friday with consoles, bundles, games and accessories all up for grabs but, inevitably, these were all snapped up in a matter of seconds. So what’s the secret to bagging a PS5 during the Cyber Monday restocks if they should happen? And why is PS5 stock in such short supply?

Q.: What is Prime Day?

A.: Prime Day began in 2015 as a way for Amazon to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The sale was such a success, that it became an annual summer event for Amazon. In 2018, Amazon extended the sale to a full 36 hours, making it the longest Prime Day ever. This year, Prime Day 2019 lasted 48 hours and Amazon said it sold more than 175 million items worldwide, which surpasses Amazon's Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales combined. Check out our Amazon Prime Day page for a recap of the summer sale.

Q.: What are Amazon Households?

A.: Amazon Households allow two adults and up to four children to share digital Amazon content. Two adults in the same household can share a number of Amazon Prime benefits, including two-day shipping, streaming video and access to the Kindle Lending Library. To add yourself to — or remove yourself from — a household, follow the instructions on the Amazon help website.

Q.: Which items get free two-day shipping with Amazon Prime?

A.: The vast majority of items that Amazon sells qualify for free two-day shipping with Amazon Prime. Oversize items, such as treadmills and basketball hoops, get free standard shipping instead. However, items sold through third parties (via Amazon Marketplace) are ineligible for any kind of free shipping, unless the seller happens to offer it.

MORE: How to Save Money on Amazon

Q.: Which Kindle books are available to borrow?

A.: Amazon states that there are more than 1 million books available in the Kindle Lending Library. To see if a book you want to read qualifies, simply search for it on your Kindle device, Kindle app or the Amazon website, and see if the Prime logo appears next to it. If so, a Prime subscription lets you borrow it for one month. If not, you'll have to pay for it the old-fashioned way.

Q.: What is Amazon Prime Music?

A.: Amazon Prime Music is a streaming music service, similar to Spotify or Pandora. Users can choose albums or songs to stream, or allow Amazon to create a customized profile to suit their tastes and do it for them. Currently, the service offers more than two million songs, but its selection still pales in comparison to those of Spotify and Pandora. Amazon Prime members can also download these songs and listen to them online (as long as their Prime membership remains active). Its newer service, Music Unlimited, gives you access to "tens of millions" of songs and weekly new releases. If you own an Amazon Echo, you can pay $3.99/month for this service, but you'll only be able to stream on your Echo device. For $7.99/month, you'll be able to stream on all of your devices.

Q.: What is Twitch Prime?

A.: Most gamers are already familiar with Twitch, the popular game-stream broadcast service, but may not know about Twitch Prime. Amazon Prime users also get access to Twitch Prime, which allows them to watch Twitch streams completely ad-free. Monthly in-game bonuses and "Free Games With Prime" — a selection of free titles for Prime members — are other perks continue. Most recently, Amazon announced that Prime members will get free in-game content for select mobile games starting with in-game items for PUBG Mobile. The in-game content will work with popular titles from EA, Moonton, Netmarble, Wargaming Mobile, and more.

Q.: What is Prime Now?

A.: Prime Now is an app for iOS and Android devices and a website that promises free delivery of select items within 2 hours. At the outset, the service was only available in select cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and Phoenix, but the program has added new cities on a regular basis.

The goods offered are mostly groceries, toiletries and small gifts, but this should change as Amazon gains additional local partners. You can also order food delivery from some of your favorite restaurants. For instance, in New York City, Eataly, Westside Market, Gourmet Garage, Vintage Grape Wine & Spirits and Billy's Bakery are among the participating businesses. You can opt for one-hour delivery if you're in a hurry, but that will cost you an extra $7.99. To see if your area is within Prime Now's delivery range, check the Prime Now website.

Q.: What is Amazon Prime Video?

A.: Amazon Prime Video is the streaming-video component of Amazon Prime. Like Netflix and Hulu, Amazon Prime offers unlimited streaming of tens of thousands of movies and TV shows. Unlike its two competitors, however, Amazon Prime also allows à la carte rentals and purchases of its content. You can also chose to subscribe to Prime Video only for $8.99/month.

Amazon Prime hosts a number of original series, including hits like Mozart in the Jungle, Transparent, and The Man In The High Castle. Users can also stream older HBO shows, such as The Sopranos, Eastbound & Down and the first season of Veep. Like Netflix, new shows are added continually.

With a Prime membership, you also get access to the ala carte Amazon Channels subscriptions, where you can pick and choose the networks you want, and not pay for anything you don't watch. Subscriptions include HBO, Starz, Showtime, PSS Masterpiece, Magnolia Selects, Britbox and Acorn TV.

MORE: Netflix vs. Amazon Prime Instant Video: Face-Off

Q.: Can I use Amazon's streaming video services without an Amazon Prime subscription?

A.: Yes, but you will have to buy or rent each individual piece of content you want to watch. The prices on this content can vary dramatically, from $2 for individual TV episodes to $30 or more for entire seasons. Or you can sign up for Prime Video on a monthly basis for $8.99.

Q.: Will a Prime subscription give me access to every streaming video on Amazon?

A.: No. Amazon offers only certain TV shows and movies for unlimited streaming. For brand-new movies and recently broadcast episodes of TV shows, for example, you'll have to dish out money for each individual piece of media. Amazon marks its unlimited streaming shows and movies with a Prime graphic across the top of the box art; everything else is pay-as-you-go.

Q.: Where can I watch Amazon Prime Video?

A.: Amazon Prime Instant Video is available on PCs, Macs and Linux computers, as well as all modern and last-gen game consoles. All iOS users can download an Amazon Prime app, but Android users are not so fortunate. The only Android devices that support Amazon Video are Amazon's own Kindle Fire tablets and Fire TV devices.

The service is available for Roku set-top boxes, Apple TV, and most smart TVs, but not for Google Chromecast. Amazon has also unveiled Fire TV Edition: a line of TVs that runs with the same interface as a Fire TV Cube or Fire TV Stick. An Amazon Prime membership isn't necessary to use the TVs, but could help users get the most out of one.

Q.: Is Amazon Prime Video better than Netflix/Hulu?

A.: The short answer is "no," but the longer answer depends on what you're looking for in a service. If you want the free two-day shipping and the free Kindle book, Amazon Prime's streaming video is a nice bonus. The unlimited streaming options are generally not as robust as those offered by Netflix and Hulu, but the cheaper price and extra Prime features may make it worthwhile for Amazon fans — particularly those who own Kindle Fires or Fire TVs.

Q: What is Amazon Scout?

A.: Amazon is always looking for new ways to get people to shop and its latest project — called Amazon Scout — gives consumers product recommendations based on what products they like or dislike on the Amazon Scout page. Currently, the site only features deals on home decor, kitchen, and women's shoes.

Q.: What is FreeTime Unlimited?

A.: Prime members save $2 per month on this subscription service that offers thousands of books, movies, TV shows, educational apps and games for children ages 3 to 10 years old. Recently, Amazon expanded the ages, to also include specialty content for kids ages 9 to 12. Owners of a new Fire Kids Tablet automatically receive one year free. FreeTime Unlimited is accessible through Fire tablets, Fire TV and Kindle e-readers. Parents can granularly sort and filter content based on their own judgement as to what's appropriate.

Q.: Why shouldn't I subscribe to Amazon Prime?

A.: If you tend to make infrequent Amazon purchases that exceed $25, the service is probably not for you. (Spending $25 or more will get you free shipping, even without a Prime membership.) Likewise, if you get your e-books from Barnes & Noble, Apple or Kobo, the free Kindle book will not benefit you much. If you already subscribe to Netflix or Hulu, you have access to a wider selection of unlimited streaming video than what Amazon Prime offers.

Q.: How can I sign up for Amazon Prime?

A.: Visit Amazon Prime's Web page, and follow the instructions. You'll need a free Amazon account as well as a credit card.

If you decide you want to cancel the subscription afterward, go to your account and select Manage Prime Membership. Click End Membership if you're currently subscribed, or Do Not Continue if you're on a free trial and do not wish to start a paid subscription.

Q.: What should I do if my delivery is late?

A.: Although Amazon prides itself on its speedy delivery, occasionally the retailer can drop the ball. There are a few things you can do to avoid an Amazon Prime delivery late, but Amazon will also rectify things with perks such as an added free month of Amazon Prime.

Given how much Amazon has engrained itself in our lives it's a good thing this process is taken so seriously by them. The Amazon Prime Account: Choose Your Prime Membership

e-commerce

There are six ways to gain Amazon Prime Membership:

Amazon Prime Yearly Membership: $119/year

This is the Amazon Prime that’s been around seemingly forever, and if you’re a heavy Amazon user, this is the Amazon Prime membership you want. Not only do you get access to all of the perks we mention below, but it also costs 25% less than the month-to-month plan, making it the best value of the two all-inclusive options. It kicks you off with a 30-day free trial, so you can cancel after Prime Day if you don’t want to keep it.

Amazon Prime with a monthly fee: $12.99

If you’re not quite sure about Amazon Prime but need more than a 30-day trial to decide, or need it walmart refurbished laptops only part of the year, then the monthly payment option is what you’re looking for. But if you need it for more than 8 months, the annual plan is a better value.

Amazon Prime Video: $8.99/month

Some people just want access to the Prime Video library, without all of the extras. Amazon has positioned itself as a direct competitor to Netflix, so this makes perfect sense. A video-only Amazon Prime membership will run you $8.99/month, and the month-to-month nature of it means you can cancel and restart as you please. Keep in mind, though, that a full-blown annual Amazon Prime membership costs less over the course of a year than a Prime Video on its own – $8.88 less, digital credits on my amazon account be precise. You might as well spring for the whole enchilada.

Amazon Prime Student with an annual fee: $59/year

After a 6-month free trial, students can get all of the benefits of Amazon Prime at a 50% discount.

Amazon Prime Student with a monthly fee: $6.49/month

Students also opt for a monthly subscription – handy if you go home is 2 greek yogurt good for you summer where your parents already have Prime.

Amazon Prime for EBT card holders: $5.99/month

Qualifying customers with EBT cards can sign up for Amazon Prime at a reduced rate that works out to $71.88 over the course of a year. All of the usual Prime benefits are included.

Amazon Prime Shopping

Free Two-Day, Same Day, and One-Day Shipping

Amazon Prime’s oldest and possibly most famous benefit is free 2-day shipping for Prime items. Depending on where you live and object availability, that can sometimes be reduced to one day.

But my favorite Prime shipping perk is the ability to opt for No-Rush Shipping in exchange for credits, usually for digital downloads. I like to collect digital credits to use towards movie rentals. You can even game this a little by placing separate no-rush orders for individual items. The best part is that your orders often will arrive within the 2-day window anyway.

Note that due to Covid-19, we are seeing this offered less, and shipping can take longer than 2 days currently. We expect this perk to come back, though!

Here’s a screenshot of what the No-Rush Shipping credit looks like.

Amazon no rush shipping credit example

Prime Now

Prime Now offers 2-hour delivery times on certain items in select markets. Certain city-dwellers (I tested a Chicago zip code) can enjoy 2-hour delivery on things like cleaning products, batteries, beneficial state bank phone number wipes, and more. Those in Chicago can also shop local grocery or Whole Foods using Prime Now.

When I tried using a zip code from just outside Pittsburgh, PA, Whole Foods was the only option for 2-hour delivery through Prime Now.

Overall, this is an excellent perk for those wanting grocery delivery in all markets Prime Now services, but if you want household essentials within a 2-hour window, it may how to get a fake phone number for verification best to try another same-day shipping service.

Prime Rx

Amazon Prime’s Pharmacy, Prime Rx, gets you fast, FREE 2-day delivery on prescriptions. Plus, get exclusive savings when paying without insurance.

Early Access to Lightning Deals

Lightning Citicard business sign in can sell out quickly, but Prime members get a 30-minute head start.

Alexa Deals

Some Amazon deals are only available when you order via voice search with Alexa.  You can ask, “Alexa, what are your deals?” or you can go to the Alexa Deals page at Amazon to see what they are.

You’ll need an Alexa-enabled device like an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Amazon Tap, Echo Show, or Fire TV to access these exclusive deals.

Access to Amazon Prime Day Deals

Let’s be honest, your fear of missing out is a big part of why you’re considering a Prime membership this week. Amazon’s Prime Day sales are only open to subscribers. The party that promises some of the best deals this side of Black Friday is members only.

Prime Rewards

A question we hear frequently from our fans is whether or not the Amazon Prime credit card is worth it. With 5% back on Amazon purchases and no annual fee, our credit card expert Mark Jackson certainly thinks so. You can read more about his take on the Amazon credit card in our article about the best credit cards for everyday spending.

Prime Wardrobe

With your Amazon Prime membership, Prime Wardrobe lets you can try on clothes, shoes, jewelry, and accessories from the comfort of your home, and pay only for digital credits on my amazon account you keep. Returns are free, so it’s like an at-home dressing room with thousands of apparel options.

Amazon Prime Video: Tons of entertainment and digital media options

prime video

Prime Video

As a Prime member, I probably use Amazon Prime Video more than any other Amazon Prime benefit. For starters, there’s the top-notch original programming that’s been winning Emmy Awards the past few years. Then there’s an entire library of movies and television series that subscribers can stream for free. And if it’s a new release, you can rent it in HD – sometimes for free if you’ve racked up enough of the digital media credits you can get for opting out of two-day shipping.

Prime Video Channels

Prime Video Channels brings the most popular standalone streaming services from cable stalwarts like HBO, STARZ, and Showtime under the Prime Video umbrella, allowing cord-cutters to use their payment info already on file with Amazon. These channels do cost extra ($4.99-$14.99/month for Prime members), but you’d be paying for them outside of Amazon’s ecosystem, too. It’s just convenient to have it all in one place under one payment system.

Prime Music

Amazon Prime subscribers have free access to more than 2 million songs and counting through Amazon Prime Music. It integrates nicely with Echo (though the sound quality of music on an Echo Dot is reportedly questionable.)

You can also upgrade to Amazon Music Unlimited for access to a much larger music database of 60 million songs. Prime members can get Music Unlimited for $7.99 per month, or $79 per year. Non-Prime members will pay $9.99 per month.

kindle

Prime Reading

Hey book lovers, did you know that Amazon has an entire library of books, magazines, and audiobooks that you can read for free with a Kindle or Kindle app? There’s no limit on how many you can read. Titles we found include Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Water for Elephants, Woman’s Day and Time magazines, and lots of Lonely Planet travel guides.

Kindle First

Every month, Prime members can buy a not-yet-released Kindle book from one of six Editors’ Picks for are at&t stores open today $1.99.

Gamers rejoice, Prime members can get free games and in-game content every month, a monthly Twitch channel subscription, and exclusive promotions on select pre-order video games.

Amazon Kids+

Formerly FreeTime Unlimited, Prime members can get up to 40% off Amazon Kids+, a full suite of parental controls that includes unlimited access to kid-friendly media. This includes more than 13,000 books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, and games from brands like Disney, Nickelodeon, and Sesame Street, just to name a few. Pricing starts at $2.99/month for a single child, or $6.99/month for up to four children. There’s also a 1-month free trial you can check out.

Amazon Prime Photos

Back up your photos with Amazon’s unlimited photo storage, free with your Prime subscription. You can add up to five family members so you can pool your photos into one giant family collection. You can also then avail yourself of Amazon Prints to order custom cards, wall decor, photo books, gifts, calendars, and, yes, good old-fashioned photo prints.

Extra Discounts with Amazon Prime at Whole Foods

Amazon Prime will get you exclusive discounts and offers on qualifying Whole Foods items for members in-store and online. Shop using Prime Now or Amazon Fresh depending on your location. Download the app for even quicker shopping options.

Amazon Fresh

What is Amazon Prime? Everything you need to know

If you're not a Prime member, you're probably wondering what is Amazon Prime or if it merits your money. Amazon Prime is more than just speedy shipping. It's a subscription service that gives members access to a variety of Amazon perks. (There's also a monthly option with no commitments). Benefits include expedited 2-day shipping, access to digital credits on my amazon account Amazon deals, and many other Amazon-centric benefits. Plus, with Black Friday deals ramping up, it's a valuable service for consumers.

For many shoppers, Amazon Prime is a no-brainer for the shipping perks alone. However, an Amazon Prime membership will set you back $119 per year ($12.99/month). So if you're hesitant to join the 200 million Amazon Prime members, we don't blame you. To help you make an informed decision, we're breaking down what is Amazon Prime and all the perks you get from being a member. From fast shipping to free streaming services, here's everything you need to know if you're wondering what is Amazon Prime.

Black Friday and Amazon

The holidays are starting early at Amazon. The retailer is now offering a sneak peek of its Amazon Black Friday deals. The event kicked off last month with new deals released every day. Although these aren't official holiday deals, the Amazon Epic Daily Deals event is still a great opportunity to save for anyone who wants to do their Black Friday shopping early. Make sure to follow our holiday coverage for the latest deals.

What is Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime is a paid subscription service that costs $119 per year or $12.99 per month. Prime members receive a wide variety of perks. The biggest perk, however, is free one- or two-day shipping on most items sold by Amazon. During Amazon's Q1 2021 earnings call, the company revealed it has over 200 million paid Prime members worldwide. So if you've ever wondered what is Amazon Prime — this should answer your question.

Amazon Prime Gaming

Heads up, gamers! Amazon announced a new benefit for its 150 million Amazon Prime members. Amazon Prime Gaming is the latest freebie in Amazon Prime's suite of digital perks. Prime Gaming is essentially a rebranding of Twitch Prime. (Amazon purchased the live video-game-streaming site for $970 million back in 2014). That means you get the same exclusive in-game loot, free monthly how can i get my student loan account number (that are yours to keep forever), and a free monthly Twitch subscription. To claim all of your gaming freebies and benefits, Prime members just need to log into their account and visit the new Prime Gaming landing page.

PS5 and Amazon Prime

If you're hunting for PS5 restock, being a Prime member could help. On September 21, Amazon held its first Prime member only PS5 restock. Amazon had tested this scenario earlier this year on its Amazon UK website. The hope is that by making PS5 drops exclusive to Prime members it will weed out scalpers and bots. The move could also lead to more Prime member sign ups. Amazon has also held a few PS5 drops via its Treasure Truck program.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is one of the biggest perks of being an Amazon Prime member. Prime Video offers unlimited streaming of movies and TV episodes for paid or free trial members in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. You can also add video subscriptions to services like Showtime, Starz, A&E, AMC and many other streaming entertainment channels. In fact, Prime members can now get a 30-day free trial of Paramount Plus. Amazon is constantly expanding its Prime Video library with new content. For more information, go to About Prime Video.

If you think you'll be heading abroad, though, Amazon will limit your viewing. In that case, it's worth getting an Amazon Prime VPN so you can change your location and watch everything you pay for, wherever you are.

Amazon Prime vs. Walmart Plus

Amazon's biggest competitor has launched a new membership service of its own. Walmart Plus is Walmart's answer to Amazon Prime. The $98-year service offers speedy delivery of items purchased on Walmart along with early access to deals and discounts on fuel at Walmart gas stations.

Amazon Prime vs. Best Buy Beta

Best Buy Beta is a new subscription service designed to take on Amazon Prime. Priced at $199.99 per year, Best Buy's service offers unlimited free shipping, 24/7 tech support, free in-home installation of select devices, and 2-year warranty protection on most purchases at Best Buy. (The latter includes Apple Care on Apple purchases). The pilot program is only available in select cities, so it's too early to tell what kind of impact it will have on Prime members. However, its pricier admission fee may make it a hard sell for current Prime members.

Amazon Prime Benefits

Although the cost of admission isn't cheap, there are many perks associated with an Amazon Prime membership. For instance, Prime members get digital credits on my amazon account percent off on select Whole Foods purchases. Amazon has been doubling down on Whole Foods discounts with new weekly price cuts that save shoppers an average of 20 percent on in-season produce, meat, seafood, and other products.

Last October, Amazon announced that Prime members would get free Amazon Fresh deliveries on orders of $35 or more. Amazon Fresh previously required that Prime members pay an extra $14.99/month. However, Amazon announced that Fresh would now be free for Prime members who have previously used the service. (Members who haven't used the service must ask to be invited to Amazon Fresh before taking advantage of the free delivery).

Prime members also get discounts on digital services like FreeTime Unlimited, which costs $2.99/month for Prime members or $4.99/month for non-members. And should you receive an Amazon Prime delivery late, Amazon will try to rectify its mistake.

Students can also benefit from Amazon Prime. If you're a two- or four-year college student with a valid .edu email, you can get a free six-month trial of Amazon Prime Student, which gets you all of the benefits of Prime in addition to special student-specific deals and coupons. After your trial ends, Prime Student will cost you half the price of a regular Prime membership for up to four years or until you graduate, whichever comes first.

Prime Student membership now comes with a deal on Music Unlimited, the paid streaming service that typically costs $7.99 per month for Prime members. Those college students will get the option to add the 50-million track library of Unlimited (which beats Prime Music's 2 million count) for $0.99 extra.

Those are just a few of the many features of Amazon Prime. But Prime membership goes beyond just deals. Below are the answers to all digital credits on my amazon account your questions concerning Prime membership.
