Call Of Duty: World At War Map Pack 3 Trophy Guide

Walkthrough (solo)

Round 1: Let all the zombies come through the windows. Stab all 5 and then fix 1 window.

Round 2: As soon as the round starts, fix 2 windows. Again let the zombies come through the windows and then shoot each zombie in the body (not the head) with 5 shots and then knife them.

Round 3: Fix 3 windows but this time shoot them with 6 bullets and then stab them them. Chances are it might get a little overwhelming. As soon as it does, open the door that leads towards teleporter B (if your looking at the pack-a-punch machine, it's to your left). Then open the next door and buy the Thompson off the wall. If you still have ammo in your pistol, use it until the zombies start to get close then switch to the Thompson. As soon as you have $1000, go upstairs and clear the debris. Turn left tcf bank locations parker co there will be a spot where you can drop down but don't yet. Instead stand at the edge of the drop, turn around and finish the zombies off from here.

Round 4: Stay on the edge and kill as many zombies as you can until they start to get close then drop down. Run to the back left corner of this area and turn the power on. Stay on this side of the courtyard and try to get a crawler. Finish off the zombies. With the crawler still alive you can run to the area you started and fix 4 windows. Now go back upstairs and go across the small catwalk to the other side and on the wall you'll see Bouncing Betty. Buy this then turn right and right again and buy Jugger-Nog. Drop back down in to the middle courtyard and set 2 Bouncing Betty's on the ground next to where you turned the power on. Make sure there spaced out about 6 feet from each other. Now kill the crawler.

Round 5: Standing in the back of the courtyard, next to the power switch, start to kill the zombies (they only come from one direction as long as you don't open the door behind you). As soon as you see at least a couple zombies bunched up together, throw a grenade to make a crawler. Continue to kill the zombies but once the crawler gets close to you, open the door behind you. In this next room is a long catwalk above you. Run up the stairs to the back of the catwalk. Stand here and finish off the remaining zombies but leave the crawler alive. Now go and fix some windows.

There are 3 windows that are very important that you fix at the end of every round:

1) The window that is on the long catwalk.
2) The window in the same room as the Quick Revive machine.
3) The window below the catwalk in the small room that has part of the wall on fire and grenades on the wall you can buy. From the room with the Quick Revive you can drop through the hole on the ground to get here.

There are 2 windows you never want to fix:

1) When standing in the middle courtyard, there's only one window.
2) The window around the corner from the one above. Both this and the window above are windows for the same room.

Now go to Teleporter C (the same room as the long catwalk). Stand on it and hold :square. Run back to the area where you started the game, in front of the Pack-A-Punch machine, and hold :squareto link the Teleporter to the Mainframe. Next run to the room above where you you bought the Thompson. Open the door that costs $750. Now link this Teleporter to the Mainframe. Chances are you won't have enough money to open 2 more doors to get to the last Teleporter so lets get ready for the next round. Run back up to the long catwalk in the back room. Once up here set a Bouncing Betty at the very back of the catwalk, as far back as you can go, next to the chain fence. Now set the other Betty right in front of the box on the ground next to you. This Betty should be directly under your feet if your looking away from the boxes, while killin the zombies that come up the stairs towards you. Both Betty's should be about 2-3 feet away from each other. Now before you kill the crawler, be sure to read the beginning of the "Round 6" description below! If you don't get the Dog Round be sure to read the beginning description of "Round 7"!

Round 6 (maybe Dog round): Dog Rounds are random. They happen around every 6-7 rounds. You'll know it's a Dog round when you hear a loud noise and a voice says "fetch me there souls!". I got the Dogs this round so I'm going to explain what to do with them. If you don't get the Dogs, skip this description and go to the next. However, one thing to keep in mind is chances are your ammo for your Thompson is running really low. If you have 50 or more bullets then your fine for the dogs. If it's not the dogs, you'll need alot more then 50 bullets. It's your call. I suggest playing it safe and buying ammo before this round starts just in case. You can do this by going to the wall where you bought the Thompson and pay $600.

At the beginning of every Dog round you'll want to run to the room under the catwalk. The room I explained above that has the section of the wall on fire and the grenades on the wall to buy. The reason you go to this room and not stay on the catwalk is because you don't want the Dogs to blow up your Betty's. You need them for the zombies. Get to the back of this room, crouch and kill them as they enter the room. There's only 5 of them this round and since you have Jugger-Nog there's no way they'll kill you.

It's important to note that at the end of every Dog round you'll get a Max Ammo.

Round 7 (maybe Dog round): "VERY IMPORTANT TO DO AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY ROUND AND DO QUICK"
When each round starts you'll be resupplied with 2 more Betty's. Stand next to the window that's on the long catwalk. Set 1 Betty here next to the window and another in front of the top of the stairs that lead up to the catwalk. Now hurry to the back of the catwalk and look out the window toward the middle courtyard. As soon as you see a zombie come out of the window to the left, throw a grenade in front of him so he runs into it to make him a crawler. If it doesn't work try again on the next zombie coming from that way. You'll be able to try about 3 times before zombies start coming up the catwalk towards you. Since you fixed those 3 windows this buys you time. Since you left american savings bank hours kauai 2 windows not fixed, they should come through them quickly which is good. While throwing the grenades be sure to keep an eye on the catwalk so zombies don't sneak up on you.

Once you have the crawler down below, turn and kill all the zombies. The crawler should never make it to you before you've killed every other zombie. Now fix those 3 windows I talked about above (you need to do this at the end of every round!). Now make your way to the middle courtyard and go through the right door. Make another right and through the narrow path until you come to a metal, double door that costs $750 to open. Open it and make a u-turn to the left and open this door for $1,250. Link this final Teleporter to the mainframe. When running back to the mainframe, do not pay to open a door to get there quicker. You'll have time to spare by just running around the outer part of the mainframe area. Once you link the final Teleporter you will recieve the trophy Der Electrician! :bronze. Even though the trophy description says to link them before round 7, you only need to do it before round 8.

You should now have around $4000 on you. Go back to the outer area of the Mainframe and buy Speed Cola and buy more ammo of the wall for the Thompson. Now run back to the long catwalk and stand next to the window. Wait for the crawler to come into view. This might take a while for the crawler to appear but just wait. You need to be standing here in order to place the Betty's down and get to the window, ready to throw a grenade like I explained above. Once you can see the crawler kill it.

Round 8 - Kill all the zombies except the crawler then fix the 3 windows. You should have a little more then $5000 on you so run to the mainframe and put your Thompson in the Pack-A-Punch. Not only will finally have a bad ass gun on you, you'll unlock the trophy Wacker Packer! :bronze. Now get to the outer area of the mainframe and run around it to the area where you opened the big metal doors. Turn away from the metal doors you opened and you'll see a chain fence. In the distance behind this fence is a switch. If you stand just to the right of the fence you should see a small, lit up switch looking thing. Shoot this with your Pack-A-Punched weapon. This will unlock the trophy Elevate Your Senses! :bronze. See the trophy description below for a video to help you. Now get ready for the next round.

From now on I'm not going to tell you the basic things I've explained like fixing the 3 windows every round and setting up the Betty's but don't forget these things.

Round 9 - Repeat the steps and once only a crawler is left, you should have around $5,000. Return to the area where you activated the Fly Trap and open the door for $750. Now go upstairs and across the small catwalk and you'll see debris in front of you. Remove it for $1,000. That should be the last door on the map and you'll unlock the trophy Locksmith! :bronze. Now, finally run to the middle courtyard to the Mystery Box. Pay $950 to get a new gun but make sure to switch out your pistol, not your Thompson!

*Note* If or when you get the Monkey Bombs, use it the very next round so you'll unlock the trophy The Might of the Monkey! :bronze

Round 10 - Repeat the steps and once only a crawler is left, you should have around $5,000 on you. Now here's where it's up to you want you want to go for. There are 3 trophies you can aim for:

Frequent Flyer! :bronze
Acquire Waffle Weapons! :silver
Pack Addict :silver

All 3 of these will take alot of money so it requires you to stay alive for alot longer. See the trophy descriptions below for more info on each trophy.

Then there are 2 left over remaining trophies:

40 Knifes! :bronze
Perkaholics Anonymous :silver

These 2 trophies will require 2 seperate playthroughs. See the trophy descriptions below for more info on these.

Call of Duty: World at War , is a first-person shooter game produced by Treyarch, and is the first game in the "Black Ops" timeline. It was released on November 11, 2008 in North America and on November 14, 2008 in Europe. It was announced on December 2, 2007, and on June 6, 2008; the 64th anniversary of D-Day, Treyarch announced it would be named as "World at War" and it would take place in the Pacific theater of war as well as the Eastern Front.

It was released for all seventh-generation consoles as well as home computers. It is the first Treyarch game to be released on the PC and it has a double development cycle of Treyarch's previous game, Call of Duty 3 and was in development from late 2006.

The game's first trailer was released on June 21, 2008, and can be viewed here. The gameplay for Call of Duty: World at War remains the same as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The game was re-released in the Call of Duty: The War Collection as part of a bundle. It was also made available on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility on September 27, 2016.[2]

Campaign

There is one campaign in the game divided into two: the American campaign and the Soviet campaign. The Soviet campaign is returning after having last been present in Call of Duty 2. There is no British campaign in the game, making World at War one of the only two major Call of Duty games set in the Second World War not to feature a British Campaign or a British playable character. It features both a solo and co-op campaign, however, both are the same except that co-op is played with multiple people and certain missions are unplayable.

Summary

The American campaign is set in the Pacific theater on the islands of Makin, Peleliu, and Okinawa. The Soviet campaign is set in the Eastern Front, mainly in Nazi Germany. In the American campaign, players take the role of Pvt. C. Miller as he fights alongside Sgt. Tom Sullivan, Cpl. Roebuck (later Sergeant), and Pvt. Polonsky. In the Soviet campaign, players take the role of Pvt. Dimitri Petrenko as he fights alongside the merciless Sgt. Viktor Reznov and the merciful Pvt. Chernov. In the American campaign, players, for the first time in a Call of Duty game, fight against the Japanese Imperial Army. Most combat takes place in jungles, where ambushes are likely. Combat also takes place in small mortar pits, ridges, beachheads, Japanese trenches, and small villages. Bunkers are a common sight in the American campaign, usually causing heavy casualties. In the Soviet Campaign, players fight against the German Wehrmacht during the push towards Berlin. Combat takes place, at first, in the ruins of Stalingrad where the player is mainly a sniper. After that, combat occurs in farmland and forests of the German town of Seelow, and finally, Berlin is assaulted and close quarter fighting becomes a common feature. The last mission of the Soviet campaign sees the Red Army capture the Reichstag and the player planting the Soviet Flag on top of the building.

Plot

The story begins on Makin Island on August 17, 1942. American Marine Private C. Miller watches the torture and execution of his team, and is about call of duty world at war ps3 be executed himself before being rescued by another squad of Marines, led by Corporal Roebuck and Sergeant Tom Sullivan. They assault the Japanese on the island, replicating the Makin Island raid. The Battle of Peleliu is then replicated. After breaking through the Japanese lines on the Peleliu beach, Miller destroys two Type 97 Chi-Ha tanks with rocket strikes, allowing the American tanks to advance. At the end of the mission, Sullivan is killed by a Japanese officer with a katana. Roebuck is promoted to Sergeant and he and his squad make their way through the Peleliu swamps to launch an assault on a Japanese-held airfield to disable anti-aircraft guns. During the assault, Miller acquires a flamethrower to destroy a bunker and a bazooka to destroy the Chi-Has positioned at the airfield.

Meanwhile, the Battle of Stalingrad is held on the Eastern Front on September 17, 1942. Russian Private Dimitri Petrenko regains consciousness in a blood-stained and body-filled fountain, just as German troops execute his comrades. When they leave, Dimitri meets injured Sergeant Viktor Reznov, another survivor, who tells him of his mission to kill German general Heinrich Amsel, who is responsible for the massacres. After killing German soldiers in their way and dueling an enemy sniper, Dimitri follows Reznov through buildings and streets and they meet up with the remainder of Dimitri's unit, who are about to assault the General's communication post. During the assault, Dimitri provides overwatch with Reznov and aids the remaining Red Army soldiers as they recapture the post, managing to kill Amsel as he flees. Dimitri and Reznov jump into the Volga River and escape the pursuing Germans after killing Amsel. The next mission takes place three years later, during the Battle of the Seelow Heights near Berlin. Dimitri has been captured by German soldiers in an abandoned house, but is saved when the Red Army attacks the house; he is reunited with Reznov and introduced to his right-hand-man Pvt. Chernov. The Soviet troops advance through German lines and Dimitri aids them with a Panzerschreck until they reach and wipe out a German camp

Then the campaign jumps back to the Pacific Theater. After pushing further inland on Peleliu, Miller and his unit take out enemy mortar crews so their tanks can go inland. They then proceed through the Japanese underground tunnels to attack the artillery-filled Point, one of the major Japanese strongholds that had destroyed many landing boats when they first landed. This allows American ships to advance, and Peleliu finally falls into American hands.

Back in Eastern Europe, Dimitri and Reznov pilot a T-34 tank, pushing through German lines along with the rest of the unit, so the Soviet troops can board a train to Berlin. Upon arrival, they engage German soldiers on the outskirts of Berlin, eventually pushing them out of the outskirts, commencing the Battle of Berlin. They then advance and fight through the city over the next few days, getting ever closer to the Reichstag. Dimitri's unit fights in apartment buildings and through the streets. After eliminating a German position in the streets, they reach the entrance to the Berlin U-Bahn, where three German soldiers are attempting to surrender. Reznov is unwilling to deny his men their revenge and gives Dimitri the choice of shooting them or burning them alive with Molotov Cocktail. Once an artillery barrage begins, they head into the U-Bahn to avoid being shelled and start fighting German soldiers around the platforms, until a surge of water fills the tunnel and Dimitri, unable to avoid the oncoming tidal wave, almost drowns.

After America gains Peleliu, the Battle of Okinawa occurs on the Pacific, where the Petty Officer Locke, in a PBY Catalina flying boat, takes part in a raid on three merchant ships. On their way back to base, another Catalina, codenamed Hammerhead, is destroyed by Japanese Zeroes, leaving Locke and his crew alone. The US fleet is assaulted, replicating Operation Ten-Go. Locke's PBY, the only PBY or plane near enough to come to immediate aid, works to rescue as many American sailors as possible by fighting off Japanese PT boats and kamikaze planes. With the PBY almost completely destroyed, more US aircraft arrive and drive off the remaining Zeroes. In the following mission, Miller's squad makes a ground assault on Okinawa, clearing out the Japanese from machine gun bunkers to allow American tanks to progress. With the battle almost won, the Americans storm Shuri Castle amidst mortar shelling and massive banzai charges. Once inside, they encounter Japanese soldiers surrendering. However, when Roebuck and Polonsky go to search them, they reveal concealed grenades under their clothes, at which point Miller is presented with the choice of saving either Roebuck or Polonsky. The remaining American troops arrive to assist the squad and engage the remaining Japanese soldiers in a battle in the castle center. After Miller calls in air strikes on two buildings, the Americans take Shuri Castle, crushing the last bastion of Japanese resistance in the Pacific War.

Meanwhile, Reznov drags Dimitri out of the U-Bahn to regroup with Soviet infantry. The Red Army then advances towards the Reichstag. During the assault at the Reichstag's entrance, Chernov is severely burned by a flamethrower, and is implied he dies of his wounds later. Reznov, Dimitri and the remaining Soviet soldiers enter the Reichstag, clear it of its German defenders, and reach the rooftop. After a final showdown on the top floor to reach the Nazi flag, Dimitri is shot by a dying German soldier in an attempt to stop him from planting the Soviet flag, but Reznov kills the German with a machete. Although wounded, Dimitri manages to plant the Soviet flag, signaling Soviet victory and ending the war in Europe.

Characters

Factions

Weapons

World at War has a total of 30 weapons, with 22 primaries and 8 secondaries.

Multiplayer

WAWBackGround.png

Call of Duty: World at War has the same multiplayer features as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (i.e. Killstreaks, Ranks, Perks). However, its ranking system is very different from that of Call of Duty 4. For prestiging, the player will be rewarded with extra create-a-class slots and gamer pictures (Sgt. Roebuck gamer picture for prestiging for the first time and Sgt. Reznov for the 10th time). There are also co-op challenges that will give the player XP. Also, players are allowed to brutally Gib enemy soldiers, as in campaign.

The Nintendo Wii's online mode was shut down in May 2014; it was the only Call of Duty game affected by the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection closure.

Ranks

Main article: Call of Duty: World at War/Ranks

Throughout the players experience in the multiplayer of Call of Duty: World at War, the player will go through a series of ranks. The ranks up to level 65 are listed on the right of the page. The prestige ranks are located on the left. As the player increase in level, the player unlocks new weapons, additional grenades, and perks. Once level 65 is reached, the player has the option to go into Prestige mode. While this does reset the players rank and all the player's challenge progress, it also works toward unlocking extra class slots for Create-A-Class.

Maps

World at War had 13 multiplayer maps plus a zombie map when it came out, a free multiplayer map was given later within a patch, and three map packs each containing three new multiplayer maps and a free zombie map resulting in a total of 23 Multiplayer maps and 4 zombie maps.

Perks

Killstreaks

Call of Duty: World at War has three killstreaks just as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare did, but the 5 and 7 killstreaks are different:

  • Recon Plane (3 kills): This functions the same as Radar from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, showing enemies as red dots on the player's mini-map.
  • Artillery (5 kills): Called in via radio, this is used to target an area of the map to be bombarded by artillery shells. It is similar to the Mortar Team in Call of Duty: Black Ops
  • Dogs (7 kills): When called in, multiple dogs will enter the map for 60 seconds and attack enemy players.

Vehicles

A major difference between the multiplayer in World at War and the multiplayer in the Modern Warfare games is the ability to drive a tank in some maps. Therefore, Vehicle Perks are included in-game. Tanks can be used for both Tank-based combat as well as killing infantry. However, areas tanks can access on maps are limited, allowing infantry to escape when an enemy tank is nearby. Another feature of the tank is the ability to switch position on the tank from either the main turret or a machine gun mounted on the top (this is not possible if another player is in the other gun of the Tank). While using the top machine gun, it is possible to crouch for added protection.

Tanks are relatively hard to take out. While most of time this may occur in tank-based combat (though tanks have enough armor that a driver can easily get out and get away before his tank blows up). The M9A1 Bazooka and the Sticky Grenade can be used to take out tanks from a more medium to long range approach, but this requires at least two players working together to take it out. Another option is using satchel charges to destroy the tank. This, however, either forces the player to get close to the tank (which is generally a bad idea as either the tank will see the player or might even run over them) or placing satchel charges, moving to another location where they can watch the charges, and then blowing them up when the tank rolls over them (this, however, requires good analyzing of where the tank more than likely is going to go). The difference between using Satchel charges and using bazookas and/or grenades is that a single player can take down a tank using satchel charges, but it is a little more difficult to get set up to even have the possibility of taking down the tank.

Character Skins

When using a certain class of weapon in Multiplayer, an appropriate skin is used to match the class of weapon. Each class and faction has a different skin. For example, when using a bolt action rifle, such as the Kar98k, Mosin-Nagant, Springfield, Ariskia, or the PTRS-41, a ghillie suit is equipped. Every country (USA, Russia, Germany, Japan) has its own unique ghillie suit.

Multiplayer kill streak bonuses

Kill the indicated number of enemies in a row in Multiplayer mode to get the corresponding bonus:

3 enemies: Recon plane displays enemies on your team's radar.
5 enemies: Artillery strike that can be placed anywhere on the map.
7 enemies: Send out an angry pack of dogs against the enemy.
Extra ammunition

Use the following trick if run out or are running low on ammunition on any mission in Solo mode on any difficulty. Find a non-essential teammate (someone not involved in the story line). Walk up to him, and aim the reticule next to his head or torso. Knife the air, and as you do so move slightly towards them so that the reticule is over them. If done correctly, he should die and drop his weapon. Non-essential teammates will get replaced when you walk into a battle. If the teammate does not die but keeps getting back up, they are essential to the story (for example, Sgt. Roebuck and Sgt. Rezenov).

Hide among the dead in Multiplayer mode

Find some dead bodies. Run up to them, and make sure no one else is around besides your teammates. Get down into a laying position. Then, crawl into what appears to be the body of the dead person, so it looks like there are fragments of the body around your HUD. Lower your gun, but have it high enough to still see what is coming. This trick will make it harder for people to see you unless they are paying close attention to the ground. The flaws to this trick are that people can sneak up from behind and see you, and you can only see in one direction without moving. After a few kills, move to another location because other players will pick up on your trick and grenade or rush you.

Easy money in Nacht Der Untoten

For the first few rounds, let all the zombies break down the boards and come inside. Then, use your pistol or knife to kill them to get more points than simply shooting them once in the head. A knife to the head will earn 130 points per kill. Once all of the zombies are dead, patch up the boards. You will have much more money than if you simply killed them as they approached. Note: After level 3, the zombies are too powerful to be taken down this way.

Preparing for next round in Nacht Der Untoten

At the end of each round, do not kill the last zombie. Kill all of the others, but allow one to live. When it has entered the building, throw a grenade at it to blow off its legs. It should now crawl slowly on the ground, leaving you plenty of time to patch up any necessary windows. The next round will not begin until you kill him. He is easy to evade. Use this opportunity to prepare for the next round. When you are ready, kill him to end the round.

Hidden radio music in Nacht Der Untoten

Start any type of Nazi Zombie game, and unlock the door to the Mystery Box room. Go to the Mystery Box. Go over to the right, and look at a table to find a radio. Shoot a bullet at the radio. After a few seconds, you will hear random types of music such as rock, disco, opera, and some in-game music such as the Russian victory song, the final mission music, or the Japanese combat music. The music will stop in between rounds but will then start again. Every player in game should hear it.

This is the part where he talks about blowing up the flamethrower's fuel-packs to take out multiple enemies. Start killing enemies, making sure to take out the machine gunner in the far building, as he can throw off your aim. During the fight, four enemies will come out on a balcony to the left, at about the same height you are at. The closest enemy will be too far away from the others to get a group kill, and will actively target you; kill him. Wait until the remaining three enemies all stand and line up, then shoot through all three of them. They usually do not target you, as they are concentrated on the fight.

Play through the "Vendetta" mission. After you shoot General Amsel's guards and move up to the car with the sergeant, a group of Nazis will appear down the street. Do not follow the sergeant. Instead, stay near the car, and wait for three of the Nazis to get in a line, then shoot.

Call of Duty: World at War

Treyarch had extremely difficult expectations to meet after the infamous call of duty 4: modern warfare became game of the year, and had won Treyarch had extremely difficult expectations to meet after the infamous call of duty 4: modern warfare became game of the year, and had won the gaming minds of millions of gamers all over the world, but i have to say that call of duty: world at war is the best first-person shooter i have ever played in my life. Although, perhaps the story mode is still extremely short, leaving it some what overlooked, the online element in which call of duty masters has been perfected, with the addition of tanks making gameplay more realisitic and enjoyable for gamers. The slightly more controversial part of call of duty:world at war is the addition of Nacht der untoten (Nazi Zombies) which is a somewhat strange addition to call of duty:world at war showing imagination and i would say a bit of courage to add something nobody was expecting. To some up, call of duty world at war is a fantastic edition of the call of duty franchise which, i for one, will remember and cherish call of duty world at war ps3 years to come.…Expand

Review: Call of Duty: World at War - PC, PS3, Xbox 360 - 9.5

The Call of Duty franchise is riding a roller-coaster through time. Originating as a World War II-based experience, the series jumped ahead about sixty years to modern times for its fourth call of duty world at war ps3 installment, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which was critically acclaimed and a commercial blockbuster, perhaps due in part to the change in setting. Many would wonder why the newest installment, World at War, brings diet food delivery nyc reviews series back to its bread-and-butter time period. They would also rightfully question the swap in development teams, with the less-popular developer Treyarch taking the wheel this time around. So, can World at War prove itself a worthy successor to Modern Warfare and avoid the ugly step-child status of Call of Duty 3?

World at War has you experience the War from the points of view of the Americans and the Russians, similarly to previous installments. The twist this time is that the American campaign doesn\'t involve the Nazis, but rather the Japanese. This is the first time the series has included the Pacific Theater as one of its main campaigns, introducing a lot of new tweaks and twists to the gameplay that ensure the campaign doesn\'t have a "been there, done that" feeling. The vast majority of WAW\'s gameplay conventions are Call of Duty standards, so Modern Warfare fans will find themselves right at home here. The shooting is just as satisfying as ever and enemies react appropriately to different caliber weapons against different body parts. The Japanese have some interesting behaviors, requiring different ways to combat them than the Germans. You\'ll often find yourself combing the grass and trees to your sides for camouflaged enemies waiting with grenades, bayonets, and snipers. Watch out for the Banzai charge: you\'ll often get knocked down and have to save yourself with a well-timed knife strike before getting a bayonet americas best wings baltimore through your guts.

The campaign is just as linear as previous games, but this isn\'t that much of a problem because the campaign is as much, if not more of, a thrillride as Modern Warfare. There are some awesome scenes that grab you just like the All Ghilled Up level in COD 4, including: executions of your enemy soldiers, clearing out infantry using a flamethrower-equipped tank and even hiding amongst the bodies of your comrades. The battles appropriately feel much more chaotic and large-scale, with appropriate background noises and visual cues to make the battlefield seem bigger than it actually is. In short, this campaign would probably be of the same intensity and quality as anything Infinity Ward would have come up with if they were to make another World War II game using the COD 4 engine.

Treyarch gets big points for incorporating two Cooperative modes that extend the life of the amazing campaign. One is a standard playthrough of the campaign with up to three other players, while the other is a competitive mode that has you racking up points and competing for the highest score against your "allies". Like Halo 3, there are also a bunch of collectibles scattered around the levels that give you "death cards". These cards can be activated to modify your game\'s difficulty and other aspects of the game, including adding some hilarious twists such as exploding enemies. Call of Duty games have long lacked a co-operative element, and WAW\'s inclusion of one simply boosts the package\'s value far beyond that of any previous installment. Playing through the huge battles with one or more of your friends offers a co-op experience that offers a nice contrast to Gears of War\'s and Halo\'s more intimate campaigns.

World At War\'s multiplayer component, while not as innovative as the game\'s campaign modes, is just as fully-featured as Modern Warfare\'s. All of the previous game\'s modes are here in addition to War, which was one of Treyarch\'s stand-out modes from Call of Duty 3. War is a mode that sets up 5 points around the map which each side must capture in opposing order. The faster a team captures a point, the more "momentum" they gain, allowing them to capture the next point even quicker. This mode is quite frantic and a nice addition to World at War\'s large arsenal of modes. Weapons are from the World War II-era, and generally offer less accuracy than the weapons of Modern Warfare. This is offset by the fact that they feel more powerful: you\'ll end up racking up kills at pretty much the same rate as the last game.

The ranking system from Modern Warfare has migrated here with some online only business checking account perks and a higher level cap of 65. The prestige mode has also been preserved, with up to 10 levels of prestige now available.  For leveling nuts, Treyarch has created quite a value. For shooter multiplayer fans, the game offers enough maps, modes, and unlockable weapons to last for months of gameplay.

There\'s one little mode that we haven\'t mentioned yet: Nazi Zombies. Like us, you might initially dismiss this as a little gimmick that the developers threw in just to offer more incentives to buy the game. Basically, you and up to three other players have to defend a house against north central regional jail doddridge county phone number larger waves of zombie attackers. You are given points for each kill, with these points translating into currency. These points can be used to buy guns at specific racks on various walls in the level. You start off restricted to the lower room, whose windows are boarded up, thereby slowing down the first few waves of zombies. At first, you can snipe the zombies from a distance, but by wave 5, you\'ll find yourself struggling to keep them from knocking down the barriers. You can repair them by holding down the action key, but this takes time and also momentarily renders you immobile. Your team will find themselves needing better and more powerful weapons, and these are available, albeit with a little twist. You\'ll have to unlock doorways or remove barricades to other chambers, allowing you access to more powerful weapons. However, each of these rooms open up several more entryways for zombies to attack from, nicely balancing out the game and adding different consequences for your choices.

Zombies has (we believe) unlimited waves, with each one throwing increasingly larger amounts of enemies at you. You\'ll get further if you play with more friends, but even lone players will find the mode engaging and fun. It\'s definitely a bigger, more engaging and valuable bonus than the two-minute-long hijacked plane level awarded to those who beat Modern Warfare\'s campaign.

The COD 4 engine was used as a base for World at War and has been improved in several key areas. The most important of these is a new fire propagation system that, while not as impressive as the one used in Far Cry 2\'s Dunia engine, is used to great effect in the form of flamethrowers (American) and Molotov cocktails (Russian). Treyarch has also upped the gore far beyond Call of Duty\'s normally tame blood effects: higher caliber weapons can injure limbs and explosives can even destroy them. Textures and environments look much more polished than they did in Modern Warfare call of duty world at war ps3 the sense of war is told nearly perfectly by the oppressive, smoke-filled environments and the constant dropping of artillery shells. In fact, the amount of background action here is quite staggering, making us wonder exactly what kind of dark magic the tech guys at Treyarch used to make the game run so well. On the Xbox 360, PS3, and mid-range-and-higher PCs, the game runs at a nice, steady clip and exhibits barely any slowdown. We would go so far as to say that it runs better than Modern Warfare, even if by the tiniest margin.

Sound has always been a hallmark of the Call of Duty franchise. Even Call of Duty 3, arguably the weakest entry of the main franchise, was recognized as having sound effects and musical themes with quality beyond those found in most other games. World at War continues this trend, for the most part. Weapons sound distinct, every grenade type gives off slightly different detonation effects, Japanese soldiers scream "Banzai" as they\'re pushed into a corner and forced to suicide rush you, etc. Simply put, World at War\'s soundscape provides an authentic and bone-chilling representation of war which has nary any faults. Treyarch\'s touch is most obviously heard in the game\'s soundtrack, which deviates from the orchestral standards found in the previous WW2 entries. Music is now a mix of different genres, with rousing choirs punctuating the Russian campaign and heavy metal chords accompanying climactic conflicts. We admire Treyarch\'s attempts to break conventions, but the electric guitar did feel a little misplaced at times. In general, however, World at War is a feast for the ears.

I\'ll be frank: I did not expect Call of Duty: World at War to even come anywhere close to the bar set by Modern Warfare. With Treyarch\'s mediocre past entries and a deviation from the successful Modern Warfare setting, many would have expected this game to fail to capture the hearts of shooter fans this holiday season. Shockingly, Treyarch has proven the naysayers wrong, building on the success of all previous Call of Duty games and introducing their own successful features and twists, thus creating one of the most fully-featured, high-quality value gaming experiences of the year: I\'ll never automatically rule out a big-budget Treyarch project ever again.

Score Breakdown:

Gameplay: 9.0 – The most refined and feature-complete Call of Duty yet. The linear campaign remains, but the combined additions of a Japanese foeand some new weapons don\'t hurt. New modes like Co-op, Nazi Zombies, and War add a lot of variety and options to the game.

Presentation: 9.5 – Surprisingly visceral and violent, World at War captures the impact and emotion of 20th-century military conflict. Be warned: this game is not for the squeamish.

Graphics: 9.5 – Great looking characters and environments with nary a frame drop in sight. Smoke and environmental effects are spectacularly dense and the new tropical island setting is a nice new direction for the series.

Sound: 9.5 – Spectacular sound effects and voice acting really capture the intensity and desperation of the battlefield. Music is emotionally-fitting and appropriate as well. excluding the occasional rock/metal elements.

Value: 10 – World at War is the most feature-complete installment of the franchise. With a decent-length campaign, three cooperative modes (including the pulse-pounding but addictive Nazi Zombies) and a fully-featured multiplayer suite with ranking system and unlockables, World at War offers quite a punch for each dollar you spent on it.

Final Score: 9.5 – World at War is simultaneously the best and most value-packed installment of the franchise. It takes the intensity of Modern Warfare and adds enough modes and extra content for hundreds of hours of fun and intense shooting action.

Free World At War Map, More Nazi Zombies For PS3/Xbox 360 Owners

Starting today, Xbox 360 and PS3 owners can download a new map for Call of Duty: World at War for free. The release of the new map coincides with the release of the second title update.

The catch is that it's just an old night-time map (Makin) that's now set during the day. But at least it's exclusive, right? Well, not exactly - PC users got the map earlier in February with a patch. PC owners getting DLC before your console? Oh, the embarrassment.

The most notable part of the patch is the fact that the Nazi Zombie co-op multiplayer mode is now available to all regardless of whether you finished the single-player campaign. Here's the full list of major changes courtesy of the official game forums:

  • Added support for downloadable maps – free downloadable map “Makin Day” now available to Xbox 360 & PS3.
  • Improved host migration functionality.
  • After Action Report now displays full post-game stats.
  • Nazi Zombies is now unlocked for solo & co-op games for EVERYONE in both private and public games!
  • Added defensive measures to prevent “Stats Reset” when call of duty world at war ps3 data is detected.
  • Addressed issues where some solo progression data was lost when a player had collected Death Cards in a split-screen co-op game.
  • Patched all known MP map exploits – this fix will also prevent players from passing through geometry/terrain if a new hole is discovered.
  • Patched a number of Nazi Zombie exploits.
  • Addressed an issue commonly referred to as the “elevator glitch.”
  • Disabled “Rocket Jumping” – this eliminates the extra boost created by all explosive weapon types.
  • Addressed some score reporting anomalies in the War and CTF leaderboards.
  • Blocked the ability of players with lower level accounts from accessing higher-level Perks.
  • Addressed an issue in Search & Destroy where bomb planting/defusing was disabled when opening the overhead map.
  • Disabled ability to get unlimited ammo when prone with a deployed bipod.
  • Addressed an issue with Bouncing Betties triggering when the player is within the detonation radius but behind a solid wall.
  • Improved squad functionality.
  • Fixed an exploit where Hardcore matches could be ended immediately by team killing.

How can I get rid of this mod on CoD: World at War PS3?

Well there honestly is not much you can do. Activision support will do NOTHING AT ALL, and they will never do anything for this game. When you get infected like you did then closing the game or turning off your console usually does the trick, if it remains after than you can try changing the names of custom classes and seeing if they are still editable. Prestiging will also reset your custom classes. If the modder deranks you to level -1, your only option is to install mods yourself and level yourself up in a private match or to get a friend or modder to level your account up in a private match.

The game has been in a modder-infested state for a while, it is at its worst on PS3 (lowest player population). If you really want to play multiplayer your best bet is PC, I have only ever seen a single cheater on PC as it uses players own servers, which have good anti-cheat and active moderators.

To some up, call of duty world at war is a fantastic edition of the call of duty franchise which, i for one, will remember and cherish for years to come.…Expand

Miller watches the torture and execution of his team, and is about to be executed himself before being rescued by another squad of Marines, led by Corporal Roebuck and Sergeant Tom Sullivan.

Campaign missions

Co-op Campaign/Competitive Co-op

A new feature in Call of Duty: World at War is to play the campaign with other players, in "Cooperative Campaign" and "Competitive Co-op".

In Cooperative Campaign, players play alongside each other with the same objectives of the solo versions of the missions except with the added objective to keep the other players from dying and the additional benefit of extra support that comes from the other players.

In Competitive Co-op, players still need to keep each other alive and try to complete all the objectives but also compete for the highest score. Points are earned by killing enemies, completing objectives, etc.

In addition, both feature Challenges which can be completed to earn Experience Points for multiplayer to improve the player's rank. Note that these challenges cannot be completed in multiplayer, solo campaign or Nazi Zombies.

Characters

Factions

Stand briefly in the puddle in the barb wire. After several seconds, the screen will shake, and you will hear strange voices. Four lion statues will rise out of the ground with alien Ray Guns in their mouths. -From: Chris Hauserman

Sniping locations

Airfield

In the middle of the map is a two story concrete building. Place satchels or Bouncing Bettys to protect your location. There is also a large white estate with a ladder and staircase in front of it that can be used as a sniping location.

Castle

There are many good sniping positions on this map. The first is a small room overlooking the garden and the front staircase. To get to this room, either climb the ladder or go up the stairs. The second location is a small room that has a clear line of sight into the room mentioned above. To get to this room, go to the bottom of the map, and climb up the staircase. You should be on a wooden porch that connects to the gardens. Turn left, and you will be in the room.

Cliffside

There are two concrete bunkers in this map. Go to the one on the edge of the cliff. From this room, you can snipe players as they run by and also shoot them trying the get in from behind.

Courtyard

At the end of the courtyard, go into the shack, and turn right. Use the portion of wall that is jutting out to hop into the tree.

Dome

There is a platform with a ladder on the side of the building. To get to this platform, you can either climb the ladder or go up the stairs inside. This spot connects to a ledge inside the building.

Downfall

There is a bunker/cave in the upper left corner of the map (second row of buildings). This bunker has a clear shot of enemy respawn points and has good protection from tanks. Make sure to use Bouncing Bettys to protect yourself.

Hangar

On the second floor of the hangar is a small room. From the outside, you can get to it by climbing up the rubble pile on the side of the building.

Go to the porch outside the hanger entrance. Close to the hanger is a large white carved stone. Jump on it, and try and hop over the fence. You will fail, but will land on the fence.

Makin

Go to the circular building, and look through the stair entrance. There should be a hut with two rectangular windows overlooking the sandy area that can be used as a sniper position. Also, there is a tall building on the water with windows overlooking the entire map that can be used.

Outskirts

Once inside the church tower, look through the circular window. There is a white building with a small balcony in the distance. Use it to snipe from.

Roundhouse

There is a platform/hallway that goes over the middle of the map. To get to it, go behind the trashed locomotives. Climb up the staircase, and turn left at the round platform. You should have a good view of the whole roundhouse in the middle of the map.

Upheaval

Towards the top of the map is building with two windows that overlook the whole area. Note: Other players will try to get you.

Go into the house next to the burning house. Stand on a windowsill, and face the side. You should fall on a ledge below.

Enter the burning house. Go up the steps and out the window in the same way to hit a ledge below.

Easy "Dead Air" trophy (Map Pack 2 DLC)

Open the door that has "Comm" on it in Shi No Numa. Then, open the door where the perk machine is located. There is a door on each side of the perk machine. Go in the one on the right. As soon as you enter that door, take a left. There is a black phone sitting on the table next to a radio. Go to the phone, and hold [Reload]. You may need to do this two or three times. You will start to hear numbers being dialed, it will start to ring, and you will get the "Dead Air" trophy.

Easy "Gunslinger" trophy

After you get to the sniper spot to kill General Amsel, shoot all your pistol ammunition. Then, switch to your sniper rifle, then switch back to your pistol. You should now have 80 rounds of ammunition instead of only 13.

Easy "Hammer Time" trophy (Map Pack 2 DLC)

Kill all but one zombie before they tear down the window boards. Let the last zombie live, and while he is tearing down the window boards, immediately repair them. Although you will not get points for repairing the boards, you will get the "Hammer Time" trophy. It is funny to watch the zombie get frustrated when it makes no progress, but do not get too close or it will reach through and take a swing at you.

Easy "Rough Economy" trophy

Play through the "Vendetta" mission until you get to the part where you first assault the Nazis (directly after you are blown out of the building, then climb up a ladder with Sgt. Reznov to fight).

  • Added defensive measures to prevent “Stats Reset” when corrupt data is detected.
