Aldi Food Market in Hornell to close from Sept. 28-Nov. 3 for major interior remodel

The Hornell Aldi Food Market at 1191 county Road 66 will close from Sept. 28 until Nov. hubert top model instagram for a significant remodel.
According to the discount grocery chain, the updated Hornell store will feature open ceilings, natural lighting, environmentally friendly building materials and additional storage, which Aldi said will lead to stocking more fresh produce, meats and dairy products.
“We’re remodeling our stores to ensure the design and experience match the high quality of our products,” said Aaron Sumida, Aldi Tully Division vice president. “We’ve invested heavily in remodeling our stores, and it’s paying off. Not only have we received positive feedback from shoppers, but in-store traffic has increased.”
Sumida said it is not uncommon for Bangor savings bank coin counter to close its stores “for several weeks” to complete construction work during the renovation.
“When stores are temporarily closed, we encourage shoppers to find their nearest alternate location using the ALDI store locator tool,” Sumida added.
Sumida said there will be no job losses as a result of the temporary closing. He said employees will have the opportunity to work at other nearby stores.
The remodeled Hornell store will employ about 15 people, Sumida added.

Aldi executives told USA Today in April the company planned to open about 100 new stores this year. The new locations are being sited with a focus on Arizona, California, Florida and the Northeast.
Aldi has more than 2,000 stores across 37 states and said it is on track to become the third-largest grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022.
Aldi is opening about 100 new stores this year when other retailers such as Macy's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Sears, J.C. Penney and Godiva are closing locations.
The discount grocer is also expanding its curbside pickup to approximately 500 more stores by the end of 2021 after adding the service to about 600 stores in 35 states last summer.
Curbside pickup has grown dramatically in popularity and availability during the coronavirus pandemic. Retailers including Sam's Club, Best Buy, Macy's, Kohl's and Old Navy added it as shoppers try to make fewer trips to stores.

Aldi opening times for the Easter bank holiday weekend 2021
The Easter weekend will see supermarkets adjust their opening times for shoppers over the holiday break.

Is Aldi open over the Easter weekend?
Aldi stores will be open between 8am and 8pm on Good Friday.
On Saturday 11April, stores open at 8am will close at 10pm.
Stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, so make sure you get your supplies before then.
On Easter Monday all stores will again be open between 8am and 8pm.
Aldi shops will still open half an hour early for vulnerable and elderly customers, Monday through Saturday.

ALDI to open new discount grocery store in Gilbert Monday
GILBERT, AZ — ALDI announced Tuesday that its grocery store in Gilbert -- the discount grocery's fourth location in the state so far -- would open on Monday, Feb. 15.
The discount grocery store is located at 1801 E Pecos Road, near Va Vista Drive and Pecos Road. Regular hours will be 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. every day.

The ALDI store was expected to open before the end of the year, but encountered some unexpected delays, which pushed back the opening by a few weeks.
“We are excited to open our first ALDI store in Gilbert. In the last few months, ALDI has opened three other stores in the Phoenix metro -- Chandler, Goodyear, and Peoria, part of ALDI's large expansion plans to become the third-largest retailer by the end of 2022.
For those unfamiliar, ALDI is a popular discount market in the Midwest and East Coast. It carries most of the everyday grocery essentials -- milk, eggs, cheeses, fruits and produce, meat, and snack foods -- using private labels vs. name brands. They do, however, carry some name-brand products, such as Coke, Capri Sun, Gatorade, and General Mills cereal.
ALDI's stores are also smaller, similar to that of a Walmart Neighborhood Market, according to the Phoenix Business Journal. They also require a refundable $0.25 deposit to use a cart and require customers to bring their own bags and bag their own groceries -- all cost-saving measures that ALDI says is aldis open today them to keep their prices low.
While ALDI has not officially announced any additional locations, Cindel previously confirmed to ABC15 that more locations were in the works. ALDI has filed building applications and plans in multiple cities, including Buckeye, Phoenix, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, and Tempe, though they're all in various stages of the development process.
Aldi opening in 2022 will end New Albany's long run without grocery store within city
After a fairly long drought, New Albany is getting another grocery store within city limits.
Aldi plans to open a 20,787-square-foot store on the north side of U.S. Route 62, northeast of Walton Parkway and across from a site that has a convenience store, fast food and a cluster of hotels, among other uses.
“It’s who was the wicked witch of the west area of Columbus that is not currently serviced by Aldi,” said Russ White, director of real estate for the Springfield, Ohio, division of Aldi Inc. “And we’re excited about the growth and the potential of the area.”
A mid-2022 opening is planned, White said.
Aldi is part of a German-based chain whose USA headquarters are in Batavia, Illinois.
White said the New Albany store is the 22nd in the central Ohio area.
“We’re in the middle of an aggressive five-year expansion plan,” he said.
The New Albany Planning Commission on Sept. 20 voted 4-0 to approve final development plans and several variances for the project.
“I think it’s a well-designed is aldis open today appropriately scaled grocery store for the area,” said Steve Mayer, planning manager for the city. “It matches the recommendation of the strategic plan that calls for retail uses that serve our residents and business partners.”

“I’m delighted we’ll have a grocery store in New Albany,” she said.
Local historian Dennis Keesee, president of the New Albany-Plain Township Historical Society, said New Albany has a rich history of local, independent markets but nothing on the scale of Aldi.
Keesee, owner of Eagles Pizza in the town center, said his building opened in the 1850s as a general store. Some might remember Morris Cardinal Supermarket on land near the new Charleen & Charles Hinson Amphitheater and Tony’s Market, which was on U.S Route 62.
One of the remaining stores, E&D Market on U.S. Route 62 at the five-corners’ intersection, closed about 15 years ago.
“That probably was the last one in the New Albany,” Keesee said.
Aldi opening second Toms River store, seeks to be third-biggest U.S. supermarket

In Monmouth and Ocean counties, Aldi has plans to move into a 21,000-square-foot vacant store at the Freehold Mall on Route 9. Now under new ownership, plans call for additional retailers, including AutoZone, and a new façade.
A developer also has started to prepare for construction of a 20,000-square-foot Aldi market on Route 70, near Brick Boulevard, in Brick. Brick Mayor John Ducey said Aldi will move from its current store at the Shops at Brick shopping center, on Route 70 and Van Zile Road, to the new location.
The site of a former Foodtown supermarket and vacant for 20 years, Aldi is part of a larger redevelopment plan.
Besides Aldi, plans for the Brick property also call for a restaurant with liquor license and a building that could be a bank or small store.
The property also will be home to a sports dome with about 60,000 square feet of indoor turf and a three-lane running track. The facility will also have locker rooms, a full-service daycare center, pickleball courts, regulation-size basketball courts, outdoor sand volleyball courts and an outdoor track.

Known for its small stores, Aldi has about 12,000 square feet of retail space divided into five aisles. More than 90% of the groceries sold are under Aldi's exclusive brands, which the grocer says will help customers save up to 50% on their grocery bill.
The new Toms River store will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. The store will give out eco-friendly bags to shoppers.
