Here’s a guide to what’s open and closed on the holiday Monday.

The Ottawa Citizen and Ottawa Sun will not publish a print edition on Monday. Websites will be updated throughout the weekend at Ottawacitizen.com and Ottawasun.com .

Shopping

With Victoria Day marking the unofficial start of gardening season, many garden centres and nurseries will be open on the statutory holiday, including locations attached to big-box stores like Walmart and Home Depot (though the stores will otherwise be closed).

Certain small stores and pharmacies, gas stations, restaurants and a few Ottawa retail areas are exempt from provincially mandatory holiday retail closures. It’s likely best to call ahead or look online to check if/when a particular business will be open. Those scheduled to be include the Rideau Street and Isabella Street Loblaws and Whole Foods at Lansdowne Park.

The city’s 311 contact centre will remain open for urgent issues. You can reach a customer-service rep by calling 311 or 613-580-2400.

The sexual health and satellite clinics will be closed Monday, as will be the Site program office and supervised consumption services at 179 Clarence St. However, the Site mobile van will operate from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday.
